Jigglypuff is a Normal/Fairy-type Pokémon (Pokédex #039) known for its soothing singing voice that puts listeners to sleep. First appearing in Pokémon Red & Green (1996), the anime featured a recurring Jigglypuff character that would sing to an audience, become furious when everyone fell asleep, and then puff up and use its marker to draw on their faces — one of the most memorable running gags. In Super Smash Bros., Jigglypuff is a playable fighter whose Rest attack can launch opponents. Its round pink balloon-like body and big blue eyes make it instantly recognizable.
