Background: Eevee's Dark Evolution

Umbreon is the Dark-type evolution of Eevee, introduced in Generation II (Gold & Silver, 1999). Unlike other Eeveelutions that evolve via elemental stones, Umbreon evolves when Eevee reaches high friendship and levels up at night. Its sleek black body is marked with glowing yellow rings that pulse with moonlight — one of the most distinctive designs in all of Pokémon. The rings glow when Umbreon is excited or bathed in moonlight, making it a striking choice for pixel art.

FAQ

How does Umbreon compare to other Eeveelutions in difficulty?
Umbreon is slightly harder than Espeon or Glaceon because it has the most beads (224 vs 168) and the ring placement must be precise. However, with only 3 colors (black, yellow, red), it's still very manageable for intermediate crafters.
