Squirtle is a Water-type Pokémon and one of the three original starter Pokémon from Pokémon Red & Green (1996). Pokédex #007, Squirtle evolves into Wartortle (level 16) and then Blastoise (level 36) — the powerful turtle Pokémon with water cannons emerging from its shell. Squirtle's design is inspired by real turtles, with a brown shell, light blue skin, and a curled squirrel-like tail. The Squirtle Squad from the anime gave this Pokémon a memorable personality as a sunglasses-wearing rebel with a heart of gold.
Design Notes: 12×14 Pixel Composition
This 12×14 grid (168 beads) uses 6 colors to capture Squirtle's distinctive look: light blue skin, brown shell, white belly, and black eyes. The round head and dome-shaped shell are the two most important silhouette elements — they should be smooth and proportional. The tail curls to one side, adding asymmetry that breaks the otherwise symmetrical design. The 6-color palette requires careful color sorting before starting.
