The Enderman is a neutral mob introduced in Minecraft Beta 1.8 (2011), inspired by the internet legend 'Slender Man.' Tall, dark, and slender, Endermen are unique for their ability to pick up and move blocks, and their behavior of attacking players who look directly at their eyes or attack them. They teleport spontaneously and spawn in the End dimension, where the Ender Dragon resides. When killed, Endermen drop Ender Pearls, which are essential for locating Strongholds and crafting Eyes of Ender to activate the End Portal. Their eerie design — a tall black figure with glowing purple/pink eyes — has made them one of Minecraft's most memorable mobs.
