πŸ“Perler Bead Pegboards

The pegboard is the core fuse-bead tool. Compare large, mini, interlocking, and Hama midi boards by size and best use, so you pick the right board for each pattern.

How to choose a pegboard

Pick by the pattern sizes you make most: keychains and magnets (8Γ—8–14Γ—14) want a mini board; medium pieces (≀29Γ—29) fit one large square board; big pixel art (e.g. 64Γ—64) needs interlocking boards clipped together. On a budget, one large square board plus a mini set covers ~90% of projects. (Fuse beads are also known as Perler beads, Hama beads, or melty beads.)

FAQ

What size pegboard for beginners?

One large square pegboard (~29Γ—29) fits most small-to-medium patterns β€” the most flexible starter pick.

Are Perler, Hama, and Artkal pegboards interchangeable?

Not fully. Perler and Artkal share the standard 5mm spacing and intermix. Hama Midi is also 5mm but shaped differently. Hama Mini is 2.6mm and incompatible with standard boards.

How do I make patterns larger than one board?

Use interlocking square pegboards clipped together. Both Artkal and Perler sell these snap-together boards.
