Background: The Fire Flower

The Fire Flower is one of the most iconic power-ups in video game history, debuting in Super Mario Bros. (1985). When Mario or Luigi touches it, they transform into Fire Mario/Fire Luigi, gaining the ability to throw bouncing fireballs. The Fire Flower's design — a smiling flower with orange-red petals, a green stem, and two leaf-like arms — has remained virtually unchanged for 40 years. It is one of the three classic power-ups alongside the Super Mushroom and Super Star.

Design Notes: 12×12 Pixel Composition

This 12×12 grid (144 beads) uses 5 colors: orange and red for the petals, yellow for the center, green for the stem, and touches of black for the eyes. Ironing Tips

💡Medium heat only — too hot and the beads over-melt and lose shape; too cool and they won't fuse.
💡Keep the iron moving in slow circles — staying in one spot melts that area flat.
💡Iron both sides and press under a heavy book while cooling to keep it flat.
