German immigrants brought the concept to America, where it was placed between two slices of bread at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, creating the modern burger. Today, the hamburger is one of the most recognizable food items worldwide. In pixel art, burgers are popular because their stacked layers — bun, lettuce, patty, cheese, tomato — create a satisfying color spectrum.
Design Notes: Stacked Layers on a Square Grid
The 14×14 grid captures the burger's iconic stacked-silhouette: golden bun top, green lettuce fringe, brown patty, yellow cheese drip, and bottom bun. The pattern uses 5 colors strategically — each layer is one solid color band, making the design instantly readable as a hamburger.
