They are brought to the surface by volcanic eruptions through kimberlite pipes. The word 'diamond' comes from the Greek 'adamas' meaning 'unbreakable.' While diamonds are most associated with engagement rings and luxury, in bead crafting the diamond shape represents value, rarity, and achievement — popular in game-themed projects (Minecraft diamonds!) and geometric art collections.
Design Notes: Faceted Geometry on a Small Grid
The 8×10 grid captures the essence of a round brilliant cut diamond viewed from above. The 3-color palette uses light blue/cyan for the top facets, white for the sparkle highlights, and a darker blue for the lower pavilion facets.
