Background: Totoro

Totoro is the titular character from Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli film 'My Neighbor Totoro' (1988). A giant forest spirit resembling a chinchilla-cat hybrid, Totoro is visible only to children. He befriends sisters Satsuki and Mei as they move to the countryside, introducing them to a world of magic and wonder. Totoro has become Studio Ghibli's official mascot and one of the most recognizable characters in Japanese animation. His gentle, rounded design — gray fur, white belly, pointy ears, and whiskers — embodies the wonder of childhood and the magic of nature.

Design Notes: 14×14 Pixel Composition

This 14×14 grid (196 beads) uses 5 colors. Gray dominates the body, with light gray for highlights, white belly patch, dark gray for shadows, and green for the leaf hat detail. The round body, two pointy ears, and large round eyes are the essential features. The whiskers and the V-shaped mouth detail give Totoro its gentle expression. Medium difficulty — manageable for crafters with some experience.
