Background: The TNT Block

TNT (Trinitrotoluene) is a craftable explosive block in Minecraft, introduced in the Alpha version (2010). Made from 5 gunpowder and 4 sand blocks, TNT can be ignited with flint and steel, redstone, or a fire charge. When activated, it flashes white and explodes after about 4 seconds, destroying blocks and damaging entities in a radius. TNT is essential for mining large areas quickly, trapping enemies, and creating spectacular shows in multiplayer. The distinctive red block with 'TNT' written in white has become one of Minecraft's most recognizable items.
